Grey Haven Aviary (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates greyhavenaviary.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this site or enquire about a bird, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you submit an enquiry or reservation form, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, phone number, country, ZIP/postal code, household and experience details, and any message you write. We do not collect payment card details through this website — deposits and balances are arranged directly with you after a live video call, never entered into a form here.
Like most websites, our server and any analytics tools we use may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and assess whether a bird and your home are a good match.
- To arrange a live video call (FaceTime, WhatsApp or Zoom) before any deposit or payment, and to book collection or local delivery.
- To meet our own recordkeeping and, where applicable, licensing and CITES/Article 10 compliance obligations.
- To send you information you have specifically asked about (a bird’s availability, the reservation process).
How long we keep it
Enquiry and reservation records are kept for up to 18 months and then automatically deleted, unless a completed sale requires us to keep certain records for longer to meet licensing, tax, or CITES/Article 10 obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary: with a named local delivery partner if you choose local delivery (and only after you have agreed to that in writing), with our website hosting and email providers who process data on our behalf, or where we are required to by law or by the licensing authority for our aviaries.
We never share your details with third-party couriers, “shipping agents,” or anyone you have not already agreed to in writing.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, or to object to how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on our FAQ page or via the enquiry form.
